What is MercuryText?

MercuryText lets you send free text messages from your computer.

What networks are supported?

Vodafone,O2 and Meteor in Ireland are currently supported. Future releases will support UK networks.

How do I log in?

To log in, you need your mobile number and the password you use to log into the mobile phone operators website. On the log in window, choose your network (O2,Vodafone or Meteor) and enter your mobile number and password. MercuryText can save these details so you don't have to enter them again To do this tick the remember details checkbox.

How do I add numbers to my phone book?

Choose Manage Phone Book from the File menu. Click the add button to add a number, click the edit button to edit an existing contact or click delete button delete a contact.

How do I send a text?

Log into MercuryText. Type your text message.Choose the person you want to send the text to from the drop down list at the top of the window. Click the send button to send the text. If you do not select a number from the drop down list, a window will appear which will allow you to type in a number.

How do I send a text to a group?

Log into MercuryText. Type your text message. Select groups options at the top of the window. Choose the group you want to send your message to from the drop down. Click the send button.

How do I check my sent items?

To check your sent items, choose Sent Items from the File menu.

How do I turn off or clear my sent items?

Choose the Preferences option from the Edit menu. In the sent items tab you can clear your sent items and switch them on or off as required.

How do I check for updates?

To manually check for updates, choose Check For Updates from the Help menu.

How do I change my password?

To change your password,select the Perferences option from the Edit menu.In the Account Settings tab click the change password button. Remember,your MercuryText password must be the same as the password you use to log into your mobile phone operators website.
